If one looks at a problem in the right way, there is no such thing as a problem. But if one looks at a problem in the wrong way, everything becomes a problem.
Our perceptions can make us happy or sad. When we are happy we are producing all the good chemicals in our system. When we are miserable and sad we are producing all the bad chemicals in our system. All these substances affect our immune system which is under the influence of our subconscious mind and therefore under subconscious control. Positive perceptions boost our immune system and negative perceptions undermine and lower our immune system.
Since mental and physical health is so important to all of us for enjoyment of life, should not we be looking at our perceptions and how we can change them?
Normally what happens is that when we are in our mother's womb our perceptions are conditioned by the internal environment and the moment we are born our perceptions are conditioned by the external environment. As we grow up and as we gather different experiences in life we are forced to change our perceptions. When we are young, we are stupid. We do a lot of stupid things under the influence of all the surging hormones; and of course this is all part of learning. We think we are going to live forever and therefore life becomes one long adventure looking forward. However, after a few knocks and bumps on the highway of life, reality sets in and we realize that we are mortal after all. Mortality stares in our face. This forces our perceptions to change again. We start looking backwards and start philosophizing about our future. Because the ego or self does not want to die and wants to live forever we hide behind religious beliefs and God etc to make ourselves feel more secure and comfortable. Hence one can see that it is the time dimension we live in and our perception of time with its associated aging influence that forces us to make these fundamental changes in our lives.
But the magical power of perception is really appreciated when one can see that one can transform oneself effortlessly and instantly throughout life without bringing in the time factor.
For example everyone thinks that one needs will power to achieve things. That is the perception. Now if you should put your finger in the fire, you know that it will burn. Do you need will power to keep away from it? Obviously not, you know what it means and what it will do to you. You will automatically keep away from the fire without using will power. Your perception here makes it an effortless action.
Yet, when it comes to smoking, drug dependence etc one will say "I have no will power". One knows that the habit is harmful and doing damage, but one will continue to smoke saying "I have been smoking for years" and "smoking eases my nerves", etc. Quite clearly, here the perception has not penetrated to the inner most layer of the self or ego. There is a separation of thought and action. There is a battle of desires. One desire wants to continue, the other wants to stop, giving one the impression that one has to have will power to stop smoking. There is no understanding in the individual of the physical and mental conditioning that leads to this false perception. Once you bring in time between you and the action, it is no longer effortless any more.
Another perception among the public is the belief that doctors heal and cure patients. This delusion of course is very convenient for the doctors in a consumer society to exploit. It is however, a two-edged sword for the medical profession. Allowing people to believe that medicine is a consumer item may be good business, but litigation is the price the doctors have to pay for maintaining this delusion. However, do you really think or believe that doctors heal or cure patients?
Let us see what happens when you cut yourself. You will find that there is a healing power within yourself, wanting you to get back to normal. If you keep that wound clean and protected, it will heal up by itself in a week or so without any doctor or medicine. This is because this healing power wants you to get better. What will happen if you keep scratching it or expose it to dust and dirt? Is it going to heal? Quite clearly it is not and will probably get infected.
When doctors treat a patient what we do is provide the right conditions for Mother Nature to heal the patient. That is we help the patient's immune system to heal the person. But if that immune system does not respond then no doctor in the world can save that individual. So can you see that it is not the doctor who does the healing? We basically help you to heal yourself.
Now science has shown us that this healing power lies in our immune system and is under the subconscious control. So if you have a physical or a mental problem you can use this power within you to heal yourself.
Suppose you suffer from a chronic back pain. How do you go about healing yourself? The doctor says you have a disc problem with some arthritis which does not require any surgical treatment. He prescribes you some treatment and recommends certain exercises and you think you will be cured. How wrong you are. It is what you do with yourself 24 hours a day that will cure you. It is no use doing exercises once or twice or occasionally, hoping that it will be enough to cure you. If you have pain, the body is telling you that you are not quite right. It tells you what to do. Avoid the aggravating factors and start listening to your body. Be determined to get rid of the pain. The stretching and exercises are meant to shift the pain. If you are overweight, lose some weight. Tell yourself that you are going to be 100%, not 99%. Do not give yourself soft options. If you approach your problem in this way, nothing in this world can stop you from being free of your symptoms.
Pain is a problem of perception. If it registers in your brain you have pain. If it does not register, there is no such thing as pain. Chronic pain is thus a bad habit which the body has acquired and you have to be determined to break it; no matter how long or what it takes to break it. However, if there is any financial gain to be made out of your illness, you can rest assured that you will never be cured and if you continue to think that the cure lies outside you, you will never be cured.

Once a king fell sick, it was very serious, he was unable to eat and drink anything. Lack of hunger and thirst made him more and more serious. One day a very old man had come to his province and he heard some people talking about the king's poor health. He stopped and asked what the matter was and what happened to the king. The people standing there told that the king was suffering from very unfamiliar diseases and could not get rid of the diseases. He said the soldiers take him to the king as he wanted to see the king. The soldier asked who he was. The old man said that he was a Vaidhya (Ayurvedic doctor). The soldier looked at his simple clothes he was wearing a white turban and dressed up like a villager. The old man was taken to the king's room, as soon as he entered the room, he could see the huge crowd surrounded his bed. He then slowly went to the bed and looked at the king carefully; he then holds his hand to count his nerves. He opened his eyes and mouth and examined carefully and smiled mysteriously and went out of the room without saying anything. The entire crowd looked at him and was surprised to see him smiling.
The old man went out of the room and called his son and gave him some advice. The king's son immediately acted on his advice. He called upon ten soldiers, ten knives and ten lemons. Then the old man said, "do as I say" entire soldier followed his advice.
The old man told the soldiers, "go into the room take the lemon near the king's mouth, cut into two half and squeeze it into the vessel" that was kept near his bed. The old man sends one by one ten soldiers in the room, each one holding a knife and lemon. The ten soldiers came to the room and stood in a row and as per the advice; the soldiers came near the bed and cut the lemon and squeezed.
The first two soldiers squeezed and went away, The king opened his eyes by the sweet smell of the lemon the next two soldiers also repeated the same process, the king slowly sat on the bed and watched the soldier's activity. He was slowly tempted by the sweet smell of the lemon.
The king's son, his family and all the people at the court watched carefully. They were surprised to see the king waking up from the bed himself. Immediately the king opened his mouth and ripped off his lips. The old man watched that the king's senses were gradually activating.
The next two soldiers also performed the same activity; the king was now more tempted towards the action of the soldiers. The king made the ripping sound and tried to get out of the bed himself. Meanwhile the old man watched that his senses were gradually activated and he could see the mouth of the king started watering. The saliva started producing in his mouth.
While the soldiers were performing their activity the king went near the container where the lemon juice was collected the old man immediately added some pepper powder and tulsi leaf (Ocimum tenuiflorum) in the lemon juice and gave the king few drops of juice to drink.
The entire crowd was surprised to see the king drinking the lemon juice. The king's son bowed before the old man and thanked him. They all were happy to see the king getting out of bed himself. The old man said, "Your highness had lost the sense of taste due to lack of saliva in his mouth, which helps in digestion of food and therefore lost his appetite and fell sick. But now again his saliva producing nerves are active and he will recover soon". The king's son tried to give him a reward but he refused to take them.
Gradually the king regained fine health and was active like before. He tried to give plenty of money and gold to the old man, but he refused to take them. The old man said, "I am an Ayurvedic physician and my duty is to treat people and you are a king and it was my duty to see you in a good health. I have done my duty and I must leave now". The king bowed down in front of the old man and bid him farewell.
The king then encouraged the practice of Ayurveda in his kingdom and made people aware of the benefits of the ancient Ayurvedic treatment. This was the miracle of the Ayurvedic treatment.

Is There Light at the End of the Tunnel?

When misfortune appears to be relentless for a period of time you question will it ever end? I have bounced along happily for years so it seemed nothing could go wrong. That was until last February when I fell and fractured my knee when walking on the parched rocky path in Spain.
We had just moved into our house in Spain where we plan to spend our winters and enjoy beautiful beaches and warm sun every day, when I was confined to a wheelchair unable to put my foot to the ground; encased in plaster.
My Spanish vocabulary was extremely lacking which caused difficulty on hospital visits! However 8 weeks later I was out of plaster and learning to walk again, but it was pretty much time to return to England for the summer.
Then Crash bang I fell down some steps and fractured my spine and knocked myself out. Six weeks later my fracture had healed but during this time I had developed vertigo, because of the fall - who knows? This has been my nightmare for the past eight weeks.
In sheer frustration as I couldn't lay down without my world spinning (at a much faster rate than nature intended!) Recently I had the bright idea of sleeping sitting up, difficult at first the joy of two consecutive days of knowing where the floor was were fantastic. Vertigo is like permanent sea sickness with matching instability. (Maybe for other vertigo sufferers sleeping sitting up is a temporary solution also) I am not sure how long I will have to continue this practice,
Vertigo is apparently probably due to crystals being misplaced into the balance canals in the ear. "Eply procedure" is another possible solution, anyone interested should ask their doctor So maybe
I have found my solution and "my world" can return to normal after about 8 months! I must admit I dropped a mirror whilst I was in Spain! Oops not seven years I hope, luckily I'm not superstitious! So anyone suffering from long-term health problems I have great sympathy for you. Good health is now my priority, previously something I took for granted.
I am now about to start a course of Tai Cheng to improve my balance as statistics now out suggest a third of people over 65 fall every year and at 85 half! Frightening thought. Tai Cheng is a simplified version of Tia Ching.

Chakra is the Sanskrit word that means the "Wheel". There are seven main Chakras and are located in the spinal column and reaches to the circlet of the body. Each Chakra has the number of precise qualities that match up to the improvement of the energy from the base level material, self- identity located at the first Chakra up to higher vibration spirit- level awareness of being at our Crown. These energy centers represent our highest level of integration split, prism like into a spectrum of color. By mastering on each chakra is the essence of the unified field of brilliance. We rearrange our desperate part into a radiant light of full self awareness.
Each Chakra is associated with a particular part of the body and a certain organ which it provides the energy it needs equivalent to function on mental and spiritual level. The openness and the flow of energy through our chakra determine our state of health and balance.
The Seven Chakra and Seven colors
Each center has its integral function of creating our energy balance it is through the study of energetic and physical being that we can create health, emotional stability and spiritual bliss.
The first level is known as the Root Chakra (Muladhara) based in the spinal cord, it is indicated through Red color, the seat of physical vitality and the fundamental urge to survive. It regulates those mechanisms that keep the physical body alive. It is the chakra whose main aspect is innocence.
The Second Level is known as the Sacral Chakra (Swadhisthana) slightly below Naval, it is indicated in Orange color. This energy is the center of creating relations of all the kinds. It is where we develop an inward sense of self and the outward sense of other, ego, sexuality and family and defines as we work as energy. The feeling of other people is directly perceived through the mastery of this chakra's energy.
The third Level is known as Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura) this is also slightly above the Naval. Located at the center of the body, it is the place where the energy is distributed. It is the center for unrefined emotional and personal power. It is the center that gives us the sense of complete satisfaction and contentment. Our creativity is fueled by our power of will.
The Fourth Level is the Heart Chakra (Anahata) at the center of the chest; it is indicated by the color Green. The center of real unconditional affection, spiritual growth, compassion, devotion and love. It is the bridge connecting the lower and higher energy of our being and is the place where resides our Spirit, our true self, free and independent.
The Fifth level is known as Throat Chakra (Vishuddha) located at the throat and is indicated by Blue color. The center of communication, self-expression and creativity, this is where the inner voice of one's truth is expressed. It is the chakra is of diplomacy and of pure relation with others, the inter-connectivity of one's being.
The Sixth level is known as the third eye chakra (Ajna) located at the center of the forehead and is indicated by indigo color. The seat of intuition and direct spiritual vision, it is here that we visualize through our "third eyes" or intuitive knowledge. The opening of third eyes corresponds with "spiritual awakening". It is the chakra of forgiveness and compassion.
The Seventh and the final level are Crown chakra (Shasarar) it's at the top of the head indicates Violet color, this level represents the highest level of consciousness and enlightenment, it is the connective center of the spirit, and this center integrates all the chakra with their respective qualities. Mastering the lower vibration aspect of our being we reside in the full awareness that we are spiritual being living a human existence.

All the colors are very necessary in our life; they have significant features that indicate powerful meaning in our life.
The vibrant color Red is the "Great energizer" and "The Father of Vitality". Red is Warm, Vital and Heating, it releases or opens up all clogs, releases stiffness and constrictions. It's the color of vitality, courage and self-confidence.
Orange is the combination of red and yellow and combines physical energy with mental wisdom, inducing a transformation between lower physical reaction and higher mental response; it's often referred as the "The Wisdom Ray". It's the color of warm, caring and non-constructive, it assimilates new ideas and stimulates mental enlightenment, and it's also helpful in dealing with excess sexual expression.
Yellow helps in strengthening the nerve and the mind, it helps awaken mental inspiration and stimulate higher mentality. Yellow is "Worth its weight in Gold". It can be used for the conditions of the stomach, lever and intestine, helps for the pores of the skin and aids scarred tissue in healing itself, has a very enriching effect upon the intellect and the brain. Yellow color connects us through our mental self.
The next color that comes in the row is Green, the color of our Mother Nature and earth and is natural healing. The most natural and eco-friendly color has both energizing and the soothing effect. Green is the color of balance, harmony, nature, neutrality and non-resistance. Green veggies have magical effects on our appetite, it contains all the necessary nutrients which builds our body.
