How to Get in Shape for the Summer

Winter holidays and lack of physical activity inevitably lead to gaining a few more pounds. As a result, at the beginning of spring, you find out that the clothes from the last season do not fit anymore. Well, instead of rushing to the store to get a bigger size, try these small tricks. Even if you do not have time to go to the gym, the following activities will help you get in shape in no time.
Cut down on sugar - reduce the amount of fizzy drinks and sweets you consume. Substitute the bottle of coke with green tea. If you need caffeine to keep you energised, do not add sugar to your coffee. The latter is a bit difficult, especially if you add a tablespoon of sugar to your morning coffee but you will get used to it in a week or two.
Mind what you eat in the office - forget about junk food during the lunch break. Homemade food is the better alternative. Chicken breasts, broccoli, sweet potatoes are both healthy and nutritional. The preparation of a chicken steak after work is not time-consuming. It will take you no more than half an hour. Well, if you are among those cooks who always leave a total mess behind, your healthy lifestyle may bring the necessity of professional oven cleaning service. Still, it is worth it to eat healthy and look and feel great.
Resist the unhealthy treats - working at an office and eating healthy sounds like an oxymoron. It is difficult to resist the temptation to try the birthday cake or treat yourself with a biscuit or two. Do your best to politely turn down unhealthy treats as often as possible.
Walk - if you live a few miles away from your office, you would hurry up to say that walking on foot to and from work is too exhausting. Plus, you have to get up two hours earlier to get to work on time. That's why you can catch a bus and get off two stops so that you will have to walk 20 minutes to reach your destination. Alternatively, you can ride a bike on the weekend, take a long walk in the park or go hiking.
Do not skip breakfast - That's probably the most common mistake. Many people think that skipping breakfast and reducing the daily calorie intake will make them lose weight. Actually, it does not. Skipping breakfast means you will eat twice as much at lunch, not to mention the blood sugar levels will get too low. In other words, having a bowl of oats for breakfast is a must.
Needless to say, any other physical activity you add to the above-mentioned list accelerates your metabolism and helps you get rid of those irritating few pounds once and for good. Just be proactive and do not give up after the first few days. Follow your regime for a month or two and the results will be rewarding.
